Description: Users are having issues accessing BIOVIA desktop connector new version. Unable to download the new version.

Solutions: Please see below instructions to install BIOVIA draw:

  • Login to your Sciencecloud

  • Go to Profile

  • Click on ‘ Download ’ and then click on ‘Download BIOVIA Desktop Connector’ according to OS.

  • It will download a .MSI file. Please run the application file.

It will successfully install the BIOVIA Desktop connector.

Also User can install or update the Desktop connector via Notebook.

Go to user Notebook profile and select Desktop Connector and click on highlighted and  choose to download new installer. Refer screenshot.

Use the Desktop Connector section to install or update the BIOVIA Desktop Connector.

If you do not have a Desktop Connector installed you will not be able to use standard Microsoft Office applications or structure drawing programs with Notebook.

Depending on whether you already have the Desktop Connector installed and whether there are any optional or required updates available the options available will change:

  • If you do not have the Desktop Connector installed, expand the installation instructions and click Download to access the installer.

  • Once you have installed the Desktop Connector you must allow the browser to connect to it. Then you must refresh your browser to update its ability to communicate with the connected applications.

  • If you have the Desktop Connector and a later, optional upgrade is available you can download an installer but you can continue to use Notebook normally if you choose not to upgrade.

  • If you have the Desktop Connector and a later, required upgrade is available you must download an installer and you will not be able to use the connected applications with Notebook until the upgrade is complete.

You must not run the BIOVIA Desktop Connector installer as an administrator.

To view the Desktop Connector status and control notifications:

  1. Click the Personal Settings  icon in the Notebook header.

  2. Select Desktop Connector.

    The current version of the Desktop Connector is displayed along with which compatible applications are available on your computer.

  3. If you do not want to receive notifications when new versions of the Desktop Connector are available, check the Don't show me BIOVIA Desktop Connector reminders checkbox.

To install or update the Desktop Connector:

  1. Click the Personal Settings icon.

  2. Select Desktop Connector.

  3. To install or upgrade the Desktop Connector, expand the installation instructions and click Download. Wait for the installer to download.

 

  1. Open BIOVIA Desktop Connector.msi.

    The installer might have a different file name if your administrator has configured custom settings; for example, BIOVIA Desktop Connector.exe.

  1. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.

  2. Refresh your browser to update Notebook's detection of the newly installed Desktop Connector.

To connect your browser to the Desktop Connector:

  1. Click the Personal Settings icon.

  2. Select Desktop Connector.

  3. Click Connect this browser to open a new browser tab.

  4. If you have never connected your browser to the Desktop Connector before, click Accept Connection to allow your browser to store Desktop Connector information.

    The successful connection of your browser to the Desktop Connector is reported.

  5. If you have previously connected your browser to the Desktop Connector, the tab will report that the browser is already connected.

  6. Refresh your browser to update Notebook's ability to use the Desktop Connector.

To restart the Desktop Connector:

  1. From the Windows Application Tray, right-click the 3DS logo .

  2. Select Restart.
