Discovery studio server admin password recovery
Description: User seem to have in error not recorded (or lost the record of) the admin password for the server, which they need now to give access to the pipeline pilot.
Solutions: It is not necessary to reinstall the server to reset the scitegicadmin password. Please use the following steps when there is no job running on the server.
To reset the scitegicadmin password on a Windows machine please do the following:
Open the Control Panel on the machine and go to Administrative Tools>Services
Select the BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot 24.1.0 (Manager) service, right-click and choose Stop.
In a Files Explorer window go to the <Discovery Studio server installation directory>\xmldb\Objects directory
cp the Authusers.xml file to e.g. Authusers.xml.old and delete Authusers.xml (this will remove the scitegicadmin account details and also any other local accounts that were set up).
Open a Windows command window (cmd.exe), by right-clicking and choosing Run as administrator mode
In the command window run the command
<Discovery Studio server installation directory>\bin\DbUtil.exe -t
e.g
C:\Program Files\BIOVIA\PPS\bin\DbUtil.exe -t
In Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services please select the BIOVIA Pipeline Pilot 24.1.0 (Manager) service again, right-click and choose Start
Please open a new web browser and enter the URL for the server home page e.g. http://servername:9944. Please click on the Administration Portal link and you should be prompted to create a new password for scitegicadmin.
