EN: Reset CATIA V5 User Settings

 

If you start CATIA with TECHNIA start tool myPLM

Close CATIA V5. In myPLM choose the desired CATIA environment for which you want to reset the settings.

Click the right mouse button and select "Backup user settings". This backups the settings to be able to restore it in case that something goes wrong (for this case you could choose "Restore user settings")

After backing up the user settings you can delete them by selecting "Delete user settings".

Finally you can start CATIA V5 again.

 

 

If you start CATIA by default icon

 

  1. Close all open CATIA V5 sessions and open the properties of your CATIA V5 shortcut icon by right clicking onto it:


Copy the content of the line “Target” into the clipboard and paste it into a text editor.

 

2. Copy the path of the CATEnv folder from the red marked area into the clipboard.

3. Paste the content into the address bar of your Windows-Explorer:

4. Open the CATEnv file of the CATIA V5 installation:

5. Search for the path to the CATIA V5 settings (CATUserSettingPath=…..):

6. Open the directory with the CATIA V5 settings. Create a backup of the folder (to be able to restore it in case that something goes wrong). Finally you can delete all files with the extensions .CATSettings and .CATPreferences.

7. Start CATIA V5. You probably get a warning that you’ve not yet selected a license configuration.

8. Confirm the message with OK, select an available license and confirm the new warning and the License Manager window with OK. Finally close CATIA V5.

9. Start CATIA V5 again.
