EN: Setup of DELMIA E5 FlexNet Licensing
1. DELMIA E5 FlexNet license server initial installation
On the hardware on which you want to install the FlexNet license server:
1.1 Save license files sent to you in a local directory, for example here:
C:\ProgramData\FlexNet_11.19_DELMIAE5\LIC
1.2 Open the license files in a text editor.
At the SERVER line replace “YOUR_HOST1
” with the actual hostname of your license server.
Specify any free IP port number at the end of the SERVER line, e.g. 27005
Specify any free different IP port number at the end of the VENDOR line, e.g. PORT=28005
Finally save the changes.
Don’t forget to open these 2 IP ports in your firewall so that client computers can connect to the FlexNet service.
Determine the computer name of your hardware:
On Windows 11 hit <Windows>+<i> to open Windows Settings and go to System \ About (scroll the list down to the last entry).
1.3. in your directory C:\ProgramData\FlexNet_11.19_DELMIAE5
(see step 1.1) the following files must be present: DELMIA.exe, lmgrd.exe, lmtools.exe, lmutil.exe
All this data is supplied with the DELMIA E5 ProcessPlanning media and is located under the ProcessPlanning.win_b64\1\Support\FlexNet
directory structure:
1.4. start the administration console of your FlexNet server with lmtools.exe
(located in the directory C:\ProgramData\FlexNet_11.19_DELMIAE5
).
Adjust all paths via the "Config Services" tab (see picture).
It is important that you do not select an individual licence under number 3 ‘Path to the licence file’, but instead specify the LIC directory in which the licence(s) are located!
Enter the name of a log file at number 4. (see picture.) (e.g. FlexNet_11.19_DELMIAE5.log
).
"Use Services" and "Start Server at Power Up" must be selected.
Finally, click on "Save Service".
1.5 Switch to the "Start/Stop/Reread" tab, select the newly created service and click "Start Server":
1.6 Please check if your service is running (see picture below).
If not, start the service manually using services.msc
(You can find your services as follows:
Windows Control Panel/System and Security/Administrative Tools/Services).
In case of problems, please send your FlexNet server log file and your adapted license key file as well as screenshots of any error messages to TECHNIA Support for analysis.
2. Renewal of a DELMIA E5 FlexNet server license / Registering an additional DELMIA E5 FlexNet server license
On your license server hardware:
To replace an expired license or add an additional purchased license, you must open the path to your existing license file in Windows Explorer.
You can read the path to the license file in the administration console of your FlexNet server
2.1 Start FlexNet Administration Console
To do this, start lmtools.exe for DELMIA E5. Can be found at e.g.C:\ProgramData\FlexNet_11.19_DELMIAE5\lmtools.exe
If several FlexNet servers are installed, the desired server can be selected in the 1st tab "Service/License File".
2.2 Locating expired or existing licenses
In the "Config Services" tab, the path to the existing license folder can be read or newly specified if a single license file was previously referenced,
e.g. C:\ProgramData\FlexNet_11.19_DELMIAE5\LIC
2.3 Adapt the SERVER and VENDOR line in the license file
From this folder, open your old/older license file with a text editor, copy the server and vendor line to the clipboard (see image) and replace these two lines in the newly obtained license file.
2.4 Make sure that all current licenses are in the LIC folder and contain the correct SERVER and VENDOR line.
Remove expired licenses from the folder.
2.5 Reading in newly registered licenses during operation
In the administration console (if no longer started see 1.4.) click on [ReRead License File] via the "Start/Stop/Reread" tab.
Finally check if the reread was successful (see picture below).
2.6 Checking the log file
Click on the "Config Services" tab [View Log] and the .log file is displayed. Scroll to the end to see if the licenses have been successfully reread. Close the log file display with [Close Log].
