VCRUNTIME Error when opening SolidWorks

 Problem

When trying to open SolidWorks you get an error VCRUNTIME140_1.dll. The messages displayed is as below:

Below is two ways that may help you to fix error VCRUNTIME140_1.dll:

Solution 1:

Please try to download and install the x86 or x64 versions of the multi-installer Visual C++ 2015, 2017 and 2019 Redistributables.

Only download & install x64 if your computer is 64bit. Then, restart your PC after the installation.

 **Note: Don’t install the ARM64**

 Solution 2:

If solution 1 can’t help you fix this problem, please try the solution as below:

Copy the VCRUNTIME140_1.dll file from another computer without the same error as you. Then paste it into the folder containing the VCRUNTIME140_1.dll file on your computer.

You can find the VCRUNTIME140_1.dll at here on Windows: C:\Windows\System32

Copy the file and paste it to your: C:\Windows\System32
