Dialog windows do not appear in BRIGADE

Question

When pressing a button or option that opens a dialog in either BRIGADE/Standard or BRIGADE/Plus the dialog does not appear, even if pressing it multiple times. Sometimes certain menus appear while others does not. Why does this happen?

Answer

In general the issue is most often related to usage of multiple monitors or special settings of resolution. Here are some steps you can try in order to help with this issue:

  1. Move the BRIGADE window to the main display selected under System > Display in the Windows options.

  2. Change the Display resolution and/or scaling on your computer/screen. Typically the native resolution of the monitor and 100% scaling works best.

  3. Disconnect from any docking station or external screens.

 

  1. BRIGADE/Plus only:
    If neither of the previous options work: Close BRIGADE and then go to your home folder, where the "abaqus_202X.gpr" file is stored and delete it. A new "abaqus_202X.gpr" file - which controls these types of settings - will be created when starting up BRIGADE/Plus again.

    Note that you might also loose other customized CAE settings that you will have to redefine if you want them back. For example, it will reset the arrangement of your toolbars menus. The default pathway for the home folder is typically "C:\Users\yourusername".
