Unable to run analysis after adding foundation slab

Question

Why does my calculation give an error after adding foundation slab to my closed rigid frame bridge?

Answer

If the start or end section of a foundation slab is set equal to a support line, a part will be generated between the support and the border of the slab (see Figure 5-2, Part 1 and 3).

These parts are always automatically generated by BRIGADE/Standard and are not possible to remove in the geometry. Instead if these parts are not desired in the structure they have to be omitted by setting the number of elements to zero in the FE-Manager dialog.

Now only part 2 will have active elements in the FE-model and the bridge will behave as a closed rigid frame.
