EN: Managing or up-to-date the Local 3DEXPERIENCE Cache
This article will be referred to if the saving files locally. This does not always occur.
“This step occurs when SOLIDWORKS files in your local work folder are out of date. The system resaves the files before propagating changes to your 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This step does not occur if you did not modify the SOLIDWORKS files and they are up to date. You can manually perform this step by saving the files locally. If you activated the Save related drawings option in MySession, SOLIDWORKS extracts Drawings from the local work folder during this step.”
You can remove unused files from your local cache using the 3DEXPERIENCE Files on This PC tab. The toolbar includes a Cleanup tool that helps free up disk space and streamline file organization without affecting files stored on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
You can also delete files manually using the Delete from this PC “ option from the right context menu.
To use the Cleanup tool:
In the 3DEXPERIENCE Files on This PC tab of the Task Pane, click Cleanup in the toolbar.
In the dialog box, select a timeframe to delete files based on their Last Refresh date on the platform.
If no files meet the criteria for deletion, a warning message appears.
To delete files manually:
In the 3DEXPERIENCE Files on This PC tab of the Task Pane, right-click a file and select Delete from this PC.
If the file is an assembly or a multibody part, choose one of the following options:
Delete only the selected files.
Removes the chosen files but keeps the referenced files intact.
Delete the selected files and their references.
Removes the chosen files along with their references.
A file cannot be deleted if:
An assembly contains references that do not meet deletion conditions.
The file has local modifications.
The file is open in the current session.
The file is locked by you.
Deleting a file removes it from your local cache but does not delete it from the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The tab refreshes automatically after deletion.
