EN: Installing CATIA V5

Background

One of the most daunting aspects of buying new software is often not the cost, but actually having to install it and get it working! Read this simple guide to installing CATIA V5.

Working within the support team here at TECHNIA, one of the most common problems we see customers face when buying or upgrading CATIA V5 is how to install it. To aid customers we have created an installation guide and some demo videos which can help anyone who wants to attempt installing CATIA V5 themselves.

How to install CATIA V5?

1. Head over to software.3ds.com and login to your Dassault Systèmes account using your credentials.

2. Inside interactive banner, select V5 as product and filter the results with required CATIA release and corresponding Golden Level. You can filter results by Type as Software. Use blue download icon to download required configuration (CATIA P1/P2/P3 or CATIA PLM Express Edition 3) and Operating System (WIN64/AIX64).

Note: Unzip the downloaded files as described in the Creating a Complete Install Folder from Part Downloads of Dassault Systèmes Products, to create one global installation directory before proceeding with the install.

3. Proceed to find the setup file to install and follow the instructions provided in below video guide.

1. Please avoid selecting checkbox for I want to install Online Documentation, as this takes longer time and installation might fail at certain times. Alternatively, you can follow Installing CATIA V5 Documentation after installing CATIA V5.
