EN: Separate CATIA V5 user settings


If you have installed several CATIA V5 installations in parallel, you should separate the CATIA user settings of the installations after installation.

Please check where the user settings for CATIA V5 are currently saved (can be seen in the CATEnv txt file) and simply select a different path for the CATUserSettings.

Search CATIA Environment txt file

 

Right-click on your CATIA V5 icon to open the properties:

 

Copy the content of the "Target" line to the clipboard using the key combination CTRL+c and paste the copied text line into the text editor:

Copy the path to the CATIA Environment txt file after the "-direnv" parameter to the clipboard and paste the content into the address bar of Windows Explorer:

Edit CATIA Environment txt file

 

Open the CATIA Environment txt file by double-clicking it in the text editor.

Search for the path to the CATIA V5 user settings (CATUserSettingpath=…)

Complete the path at the end with unique information (e.g. release information):

Save the file.

 

Start CATIA V5 -> the CATIA V5 user settings are created in the new directory.
