Error 1714 : Setup cannot remove the older version of Microsoft visual basic for Application 7.1

Problem:

This error is seen while installing SOLIDWORKS. In this case installation manager is unable to remove the Microsoft visual basic for Application 7.1.

 

Step by Step Solution:

To solve this issue we have to use the Microsoft tool for removing Microsoft visual basic for Application 7.1.

  1. Open this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed

  2. Download the troubleshooter as shown below.

3. Right click on the tool and open it as shown below

4. Click next

5. Select uninstalling

6. Search for Microsoft visual basics for application 7.1 (x64) English, select it and click next.

 

7. Now select Yes try uninstall.

8. At the end we will get a uninstall successful window close it and run the tool again for Microsoft visual basics for application 7.1 (x64) uninstallation.

9. After uninstalling both the instance close the tool and try SOLIDWORKS installation again it should work fine.
